INFORMATION
Information is what forms our view of reality. This is what
connects the dots for us from a state of confusion to understanding. Therein
itself, it doesn't mean anything until we bring it into use with purpose.
Why Does Information Matter?
Humans use information to make decisions, such as where to
eat or how to solve a problem. Information allows people to connect with one
another through collaboration and relationship building. Designers utilize
information about users to create clear app interfaces or helpful posters. Good
information makes life easier; poor information causes confusion. For instance,
a cluttered app is hard to use, but a well-designed website makes shopping
simple.
Ethics and Information
The Concept of Information
Information is everywhere; it shapes how we see, understand,
and navigate the world. It's more than just facts or data. Information fills
the gap between what we know and what we don't know, turning chaos into order.
However, it's not neutral. It's shaped by who creates it, how it's shared, and
what purpose it serves.
I'm thinking In understanding the universe, materialism, energy, and biology must be considered fundamental. "Information" is only a way of understanding, and cannot be considered the most fundamental unit of the universe. this is my perspective.
Is information a human creation?Plato Theory of Forms:According to Plato, truth and information exist in naturally existing "Forms." That is, information is not a creation of man, but exists naturally as the form of all things.
Both of these, in one way or another, imply that information is some kind of combination of human knowledge and natural truths.
Types of Information
Information comes in many different forms and embodies many
kinds of diversity, depending on its purpose, format, and the way it is
understood. Scientific data differs from a news report. Understanding these
differences enhances our effectiveness at using information.
The Power of Networks
Philosopher Bruno Latour said an idea is "true"
not because it's absolutely correct, but because it's hooked up with other
strong ideas and systems. When something changes within that network, the
entire system shifts.
How Information Changes
Whenever information is passed, it often gets simplified or
highlighted in order to make it more understandable. For instance, a news
headline may be focused on the dramatic details and leave out the complex
parts. While this may make understanding easier for the public, if not handled
carefully, it leads to distortion of the truth.
